Zhiyuan's 15,000th General-Purpose Embodied Robot 'Genie G2' Rolls Off Production Line
Zhiyuan has achieved a new production milestone as its 15,000th general-purpose embodied robot Genie G2 comes off the line, marking a significant leap in scalable humanoid robot manufacturing and real-world deployment.
Chinese robotics company Zhiyuan today announced that its 15,000th general-purpose embodied robot, the Genie G2, has officially rolled off the production line. The milestone underscores the company’s rapidly scaling manufacturing capacity and signals a new phase for humanoid robots moving into large-scale real-world applications.
Yao Maoqing, Zhiyuan partner, senior vice president, and president of the embodied business department, said the 15,000-unit figure confirms the company’s mass production capabilities have reached a new height. “Mass production is not the end goal, it’s a process,” Yao stated. “Through scaled manufacturing we can deploy robots quickly across many industries, letting them interact with the real physical world to gather data. That data flywheel makes the product increasingly intelligent and reliable.”
This production pace has quickened dramatically. On December 8 last year, the 5,000th general-purpose embodied robot was delivered; on March 30 this year, the 10,000th Expedition A3 model came off the line. Now, less than three months later, the Genie G2 has pushed the total to 15,000.
The Genie G2, unveiled in October last year, is an industrial‑grade interactive embodied work robot. It runs on an NVIDIA Jetson Thor chip and features high-precision force‑controlled dual arms, a 19‑degree‑of‑freedom dexterous hand with 3D tactile perception, and a 5‑degree‑of‑freedom waist‑leg system paired with an omnidirectional chassis. It introduces a real‑machine reinforcement learning toolchain. The robot supports multi‑person continuous voice dialogue and knowledge‑base Q&A, and uses a dual‑battery hot‑swap design for quick power changes.
Safety is ensured with a 360‑degree surround fisheye camera, dual front‑and‑rear lidar, and active obstacle avoidance during autonomous navigation. An optimized over‑the‑horizon teleoperation software and hardware link gives operators agile control. The machine’s versatility spans industrial operations, inspection and patrol, security guidance, tour narration, home service, and scientific research.
Zhiyuan’s production milestone comes amid accelerating global interest in humanoid robots, with companies racing to prove not just technological breakthroughs but the ability to deploy useful, robust machines at scale in factories, logistics centers, and eventually homes.
