Changan Automobile Becomes First Chongqing Carmaker to Receive National Generative AI Filing Approval for Self-Developed Tianshu Large Model
Changan Automobile’s fully self‑developed Tianshu large model has received generative AI service filing approval from China’s Cyberspace Administration, marking a significant milestone for the auto industry.
Chongqing, China – Changan Automobile announced today that its in‑house developed Tianshu (Celestial Pivot) large model has officially passed the Generative AI service filing by the Cyberspace Administration of China. This makes Changan the first automaker headquartered in Chongqing to gain such approval, allowing the model to be deployed as a standalone service or integrated product for public use.
According to the official description, the Tianshu large model is trained on multi‑modal data including voice, language, and vision, and possesses capabilities in perception, comprehension, reasoning, and generation. It will serve as a foundational base model supporting Changan’s “Tianshu” intelligent product R&D system.
The approval builds on Changan’s ongoing push into AI‑driven mobility. Last September, the company unveiled its proprietary end‑to‑end interactive navigation assist system, Tianshu Intelligent Driving Assist, and previously secured the nation’s first official L3 autonomous driving license plate.
This filing marks a strategic step for Changan as it advances smart cockpit and autonomous driving technologies by integrating generative AI, signaling the company’s readiness to offer AI‑powered services directly to consumers.
